Gripping, swung, the eagle hung
upended on a Weaver’s nest,
its talons curled, a potter’s
palms,
hooked beak inside the entrance.
Wings, the panic of the colony,
the hatchling snatched and dead,
one nest left swinging
with the shaking of a parent’s
head.
